On the question of religious liberty, there was an interesting paper that came out several months ago that made the rounds in traditionalist circles. It made the argument that the Church has always reserved the right to use coercion on her own members. I'll see if I can dredge it up. If you've heard of the argument or read the paper, I'd be interested in your opinion.<br /><br />Anyway, I think your position and that of Cardinal Dulles deserves serious consideration. Typically when I encounter essays about changes in Church teaching they are often done in order to justify some future change the author would like to see. Whether or not that is true or even mostly true for the good people of Vox Nova, I do not know.
